Company History
Royal Tire Service has been in business since 1957 at which time it was owned and operated by L.M. "Slim" Hixson. Shortly after David Roberson married Sunny Hixson in 1965, David began working for his father-in-law. In 1970, David and Sunny purchased the business from Mr. Hixson. Sunny worked along with her husband as the office manager until 1996 when their first grandchild was born. Also in 1996, Roberson's son, Scott, began working at the business. In 1999, Roberson's daughter, Laura, took over the duties of the office manager.
Royal Tire Service began as a traditional "service station" providing full service gas pumps, oil and air checks, and sold one brand of tire, Uniroyal. Throughout the years, they have expanded their offering to include all of the major tire brands along with private label brands, as well as automotive services to include muffler and exhaust repair and brake repair service. In 1994, Royal Tire Service became an American Car Care Center providing a new level of customer service. Then in 2000, Royal Tire Service became affiliated with Tire Pros, the second largest chain of independently owned tire dealers in the United States. Royal Tire and Lube Auto Service Center continues to be recognized by both American Car Care Centers and Tire Pros as 5 Star Dealers.
